Bring your tooth brush, favorite food & drink, bathing suite, towel, and kayak or paddleboard. If you give me a heads up, I can arrange to have 2 kayaks and life jackets on the pier. No charge, but I just ask that you be respectful of my kayaks and gear. Any additional kayaks or paddleboards will be $25 per unit for the stay.

Master Bedroom: relax in our beautiful Ethan Allen king size bed with 3" Tempur-pedic foam topper. There's nothing better than waking up in the morning, opening the blackout curtains, and taking in the vast views of the water. There's a spacious walk-in closet and a master bath with a walk-in shower, double vanity, and stackable washer/dryer. 2nd Bedroom: this room has a full size bed with a memory foam mattress. There is a beautiful vintage dresser with mirror in the room to keep your belongings. The owner's closet is in this room, so it is locked and inaccessible to guests. 3rd Bedroom: two twin beds make this the perfect kid's room. Thoughtfully decorated, it contains a large armoire to hang and store your clothes. Guest Bathroom: acting as a guest bath in the main living area, this contains a small glass surround walk-in shower, toilet, and sink. Loft: you will find a comfy queen size bed here. It does require climbing a ladder to access, so this is best reserved for older children, and (nimble) adults. Kitchen: located on the bottom floor, the kitchen has granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. You will be on your own for groceries, but it is equipped with many spices, condiments, and olive oil to get you started. We come to the cottage about once a month and do our best to keep things stocked. If you use the last of something and feel inspired to replace it for the next guest, it is greatly appreciated. There is a Keurig coffee machine available as well as a regular coffee brewer located in the cabinet. All the pots, pans, and utensils you need to prepare a nice meal are here for your use. There is also a large kitchen island with bar seating for 2. Den: adjacent to the kitchen, this area has a black leather couch in front of a 42" Samsung TV with a Roku stick that also has access to your favorite apps and SlingTV. Below that is gas fireplace. It will get the room warm within minutes during the colder months and makes for a very cozy environment. There is also a half bath connected to this room. Dining Room: a large wooden farmhouse table with steel base takes up the rest of the bottom floor. There is enough seating for 7-8 people for a memorable family meal. Outside: immediately outside of the back door leading out of the kitchen, you will step on to the upper deck with a nice lounge area with outdoor couch, chaise, and table. Beyond that you will find access to the screened in hot tub room. THE HOT TUB IS FULLY FUNCTIONAL AND WE KEEP UP WITH THE MAINTENANCE OF IT, BUT IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RATE OF YOUR STAY. YOU SHOULD NOT BOOK OUR PROPERTY ONLY FOR THE HOT TUB, AS THERE COULD BE A CHANCE IT IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. On the other side, you will find the grilling area and just past that, there is an outdoor shower. The lower deck includes a picnic table, sunbathing area, and tiki bar. Below that, you will find the dock where you can fish, park your boat, or use 2 of the provided kayaks. There is a boathouse and 2 sheds on the property, and a garage under the Quonset hut. These areas are locked and guests will not have access to them. ***Please note, beach towels are not provided. Please bring your own and do not use bath towels for use after enjoying the hot tub or the lake.*** Garbage: Trash pickup is on Tuesdays. If you are staying on a Monday, please roll the trash bin out to the street for Tuesday pickup and pull back under the Quonset hut once they've arrived. - There are 3 security cameras located on the exterior of the house. One is pointed towards the front door, one is pointed towards the back deck from the screened in hot tub, and one is on the lower deck pointed towards the lake. - Maximum occupancy is 10 guests total. If the guest count provided is inaccurate, the host reserves the right to charge an additional $250 per person per day. - The property is strictly NO EVENTS unless explicitly given permission before your stay. We have accumulated an abundance of great reviews from satisfied guests there and our goal is to create another great vacation rental here that gives the same satisfying experience as our Carolina Beach property. My husband and I purchased the Lazy Bear Lake House in 2019 because we knew as soon as we saw it, that it would be the perfect location for friends and families to get away, kick back, relax and enjoy all that lakefront living has to offer. The Lazy Bear Lake House is nestled on a quiet cove at the northern end of High Rock Lake (NC's second largest lake that covers over 15,000 acres and has 365 miles of shoreline). We've decorated our getaway in a casual cabin/bear theme. This 1,700+ sq ft property has three levels of lakefront living that are mere steps from the water as well as your own private dock that's perfect for fishing, sunbathing, swimming and securing your boat/jetskis during your stay. The master bedroom suite was newly constructed in 2012 and makes up the entire 2nd floor. It consists of a large custom bath with tiled shower and dual sinks, queen-sized bed, a sitting/TV area, two ceiling fans, his and hers closets and a set of french doors that lead you out onto a private screened-in porch. It has comfortable seating and overlooks the water. It's the perfect place to enjoy morning coffee, curl up with a good book or indulge in an evening nightcap while watching the stars and listening to the water gently lap up against the shore. The main level consists of another full bathroom with bathtub/shower combo. Another plus is the laundry room with full-sized W&D, all necessary supplies and built-in ironing board with iron. Around the corner there's a second bedroom with a queen-sized bed, ceiling fan, closet and access door to the main level's screened-in porch. The kitchen has all modern conveniences (including a new D/W...Yeah!) and because it's fully-stocked with all essentials, that means less time running to the store and more time preparing meals and enjoying them at the built-in dining area with family and friends. Adjacent to this is the living room that includes a pull-out, full-sized sleeper sofa, flat screen smart TV, ceiling fan, cozy stone fireplace and french doors that lead out to the second screened-in (yes, that means NO bugs to contend with) porch. This porch also overlooks the water and has ample comfortable seating, decorative ambiance lighting and a small bar to provide the perfect spot to mix up some cool cocktails on a warm summer afternoon. Go out the side door on the porch and make your way down the steps and through the perennial garden area to the walkout basement. Here you'll find a third porch/seating area. The game room is also located on this level. It includes a full-sized fridge to hold extra drinks and snacks, a flatscreen smart TV, and futon. Enjoy playing air hockey, darts or a vintage game of PacMan which will entertain both kids and adults alike. Next door is the location of the third bedroom. It also has a queen-sized bed, closet and attached half bath. As mentioned above, the Lazy Bear Lake House has its own private newer dock made of aluminum. This means it's clean, sturdy and no worrying about you or your kids getting splinters while walking barefoot on a rickety wooden dock. This is where you can enjoy all things water (fishing, swimming, boating, etc.). We know that even though most of us crave finding a place where we can get away from it all, it's also desirable to find a balance of close proximity to shopping, restaurants and other conveniences like gas stations, banks, entertainment and more. This is another wonderful feature of the Lazy Bear Lake House. You can find all of these things within 10-15 minutes of the property making our location a real plus and a win-win in all categories. Our comfy master bedroom features a king sized bed, flat screen TV, cable and private attached bathroom with stall shower. The second bedroom has a comfy queen size sleigh bed, flat screen TV with cable. The third bedroom has 4 twins (2 trundle beds). Rest on the most comfortable double size pull out couch in our large family sun room. Enjoy the living room with Flat screen TV and cable to yourself or sit in the family sun room on the recliner and enjoy the 65 inch smart TV that offer tons of apps and a full cable package including all movie channels for your viewing pleasure, also included is Wi-Fi. If that doesn't suit your fancy, for that possibility of rain, enjoy our selection of novels, games, and dvd's. We have a small office area looking out on the lake for those of us who can't seem to get away from work that includes a printer/scanner. For convenience, a small bait fridge in the kitchen, a drink mini fridge and a 25 lbs per day ice machine are installed in the family sun room.... no more trips to the store every day for ice! The entire back of the house gives an exceptional view of the lake and the beautiful sunsets it offers. Enjoy some water time by docking your boat on our dock (Marina and boat launches are practically right around the corner) or use our complimentary paddle boat and kayaks. Enjoy time by stretching out on our sandy beach or watch the kids build sandcastles. Throw out a line and catch catfish, perch, crappie or bass (known to hang around our cove) straight from the dock. At night, enjoy smores by the fire pit down by the water. Put the pups to bed in our cozy, orthopedic dog beds, enjoy time with family and friends, relax and soak in the peacefulness that is this little treasure. This is a backyard campsite for camping . Similar to airbnb but for camping its a site called hipcamp my backyard is called Crashpad 1620. Where you can pitch a tent or stay in a van campers etc , We have a shelter with a picnic table and a rain water sink , a porta Jon and a firepit .(These are communal areas.) Its only 80 ft wide but almost a mile deep .This is how it all started there was a hippie fest going on in town and it was posted on social media . Someone posted they were looking for a place to camp but they didnt have camping at the fairgrounds where the event was . So I messaged this person and said I have a big yard maybe they could camp here but I have no facilities water toilet etc. We spoke and the gentleman said he would like to do that him and his group . I have never done anything like this they paid me to stay ,but before I knew it I had 32 people coming here 2 pop up campers a 30 ft pull behind and 12 tents WOW . So of course I had to get the porta toilet thats how it ended up down there . The weather was threatening us so some people cancelled but in all we ended up with 16 people here it was a fun time for all . Thats when I decided to join a site called hipcamp now we are on our hipcamp journey . My fiance Henry built a shelter and a rain barrel water isnt drinkable , as time goes on we will be cleaning out more of the land for more camp sites . Now to continue the story we have added a 30 ft Coleman lantern trailer camper ,brand new 2021 It sleeps 5 comfortably . Over 5 days we seldom saw anyone on the water outside of a few serious fisherman. We mostly fished largemouth bass but would occasionally work the panfish during the heat of the day. There was easily 70+ bass caught and 50+ panfish. The hammock was great in the evenings and Bryan left the gas grill ready to go which was a welcome means of cooking for the man trip. We all had a wonderful time and capped it off with a tasty Tuckertown fish fry. The yard needs a good bit of work and we hope to get started on some landscaping here soon. We also plan to redo the front porch and the front dormer windows too.
